According to Howey Political News Secretary of State Todd Rokita will seek the Republican 4th CD nomination in the seat vacated by U.S. Rep. Steve Buyer on Friday. A spokesman for Rokita said he "discussed and prayed with his wife Kathy at home over the weekend about how best to serve going forward. He is grateful for the encouragement from Hoosiers throughout the 4th CD and had decided to campaign for the opportunity to serve in Congress on their behalf." The decision ends a tumultuous week for Rokita, who began it by saying he might challenge U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh. Rokita is expected to post a statement later today to his Facebook page.
