Chairman's Commentsalt

Since working more closely in the party, I see that we have many strengths as well as many areas to work on. Too often though, we don’t focus enough on our strengths. These strengths are what we must build upon to keep gaining strength.

We have 54 elected Republicans locally and three in State-wide offices. We have fifteen city and town chairmen with some who are newly appointed. These chairmen have been working hard all year to organize their local GOP party. They’ve all learned how to log in and post on our new website, received training on Voter Vault, and have worked on recruitment as well as retention of candidates and precinct committeemen.

The County Party launched a new website, created a mission statement, developed new and innovative ways to raise money, improved communications, and we are developing ways to better assist candidates and raise money.

With all the work we have done this past year and all of our strengths, we still have many goals to reach. I will go more into detail on those next month. There are two changes that must occur for us to continue to build the party. First, the theme of this party must change from being problem focused to solution based. And we all need to work together to find those solutions or we will not be successful.

The second change we must employ in order to be successful is attitude. In any sport successful athletes work hard everyday in the gym to build their strength and endurance and practice their sport. Then on game day they go out with positive attitudes to win. So we as Republicans must all work hard at “what can I do for the party to make it more successful.” Then we need to go out on campaigns with winning attitudes that will have been supported by that hard work.

We must all step up to the next level. It’s time to stop the excuses and find the solutions. It’s time to have a positive attitude towards our strengths and our goals. Now is the time to start recruiting members, candidates, and precinct committeemen. Now is the time to start raising money to support candidates. So if you’re asked to help on a committee or campaign, run for office, or donate money, don’t bring excuses. Bring me solutions.

Whatever your faith, I wish everyone a blessed holiday season. Remember our troops who are away from their families and remember those who have lost loved ones this past year. Let’s enjoy the celebrations as well as our family and friends and then start next year with a winning attitude to build the party and win elections!

Kim
