As you all know by know now, 2 of our Republican County wide candidates have been challenged by their democratic opponents and face removal from the ballot this November 2nd. The hearings have been set. The first hearing will be for Republican Circuit Court Judge Bill Fine on Thursday Sept 2nd in Indianapolis.

The 2nd hearing will be Friday September 3rd for Republican County Assessor Candidate Hank Adams, at the Lake County government center at 9am in the Commissioners Meeting room.

If you can attend one or both of hearings, we would show the democrats that we will not be intimidated. If you cannot attend, please consider contributing to their campaigns.

Chairman's Commentsalt

Well, the deadline has passed for filling any vacancies on the ballot with Republicans for this year’s general election. It was a pretty exciting couple of months to say the least. I would like to thank those chairmen who helped field candidates and the candidates who stepped forward to run.

We have enjoyed a lot of positive publicity with the press. We have worked hard to give voters a choice this November. But this must be just the beginning. We need everyone who is reading this letter to get involved with a campaign or two. If you can’t donate money, then offer to help. We need people to walk door to door to pass out information and talk to voters. We need people to make phone calls and to work on election day.

Did you help make a 4th of July float for your city or town GOP or walk in a parade for a candidate?

Have you called a candidate to volunteer or mailed a check?

Have you talked to your neighbors, friends, and family about helping our candidates or voting for them?

If you answered no to any or all of these questions, then you are probably doing the same thing you have done for past elections. It’s time to STOP doing the same thing if you want different results.

Precinct committee people should have all received a Republican pin and instructions on your duties as a precinct committee person. We need all of you to take your positions seriously. Talk with your city or town chairs about getting a call list for your precinct. Start calling strong Republicans to get volunteers to work on campaigns and work on election day at the polls.

If you are not a precinct committee person and would like to be, we have some available spots left in some cities and towns. Send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I am asking everyone who is reading this email to scroll all the way down to the end right now. Go ahead. I’ll wait! OK, did you see the cute little picture that says “Forward to a Friend?” Now, when you are done reading the newsletter, click on that picture and enter at least ONE name to email our newsletter to that you know does not receive it. Of course you can enter more than one name and email address, so enter as many as you want! It’s really easy and will take you less than 2 minutes.

You must get involved now if we are to win in November. Only YOU can make Lake County a 2 party system of government. There is plenty of opportunity to help. The choice is yours.

Kim

Dear City and Town Chairs and Candidates

With a commitment from Jim Cuffia and Chuck Oliver's help in having the right contacts, we were able to secure a booth at the Lake County Fair inside the Industrial Building. Jim Cuffia is organizing the booth so if you would like to work at the booth, please contact him. Candidates need to make sure Jim has a sign and any literature that you want passed out. We are asking for a $20 donation from candidates who are advertised at the booth either by sign or literature. This donation will help offset costs for the booth rental as well as construction supplies. If you have any questions, please contact Jim at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. 2010 Lake County GOP Reagan Breakfast

Please mark on your calendars the morning of October 2, 2010 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at The Patrician in Schererville for this year's LCRCC Reagan Breakfast.  We are pleased to announce that our featured speaker will be U.S. Senate candidate Dan Coats and in addition we will have as our guest speaker Secretary of State candidate Charlie White.  We are excited to have both of these men join us and being able to host this event at The Patrician will allow us to accomodate up to 250 guests.  This event has grown over the years, so make plans early to join the LCRCC for this fundraiser.  We anticipate a full house for this event, so make sure you contact the Town Chairman for tickets.
